Analysis · The agentic web

Web MCP is the web's new front door. Most sites can't open it.

In February 2026, Google and Microsoft announced Web MCP (Web Model Context Protocol) — a proposed W3C web standard that lets a website hand AI agents a structured list of things it can do: book an appointment, check availability, get a quote, complete a checkout. It's already live in Chrome origin trials, with Gemini in Chrome as the first agent calling those tools.

That flips the model. Until now, an AI agent visiting a website had to guess — scraping the page, reading screenshots, hunting for buttons. With Web MCP, the website declares its capabilities and the agent calls them like an API. The sites that speak this language get chosen; the sites that don't get skipped.

~40%

Of the web still stuck on WordPress

01

Your next visitor might not be human

Customers increasingly ask ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot to find, compare, and even book services for them. The agent visits your site on their behalf. If it can't understand what you offer or act on it, it moves on to a competitor whose site it can use.

02

The old methods are breaking down

Yesterday's playbook — a templated site, some SEO plugins, a contact form — was built for one audience: a person reading a screen. Agents don't read screens the way people do. Sites with no structured data, no tool layer, and no agent access are effectively invisible to the fastest-growing source of buying decisions.

03

Web MCP rewrites the contract

Web MCP lets a site register tools — real functions with defined inputs and outputs — directly in the browser. An agent doesn't guess where the booking button is; it calls book_appointment with a date and a service. Reliable, fast, and no scraping. That's the difference between a brochure and a storefront in the agentic web.

04

Most of the industry can't follow

Roughly 40% of the web still runs on WordPress, and much of the rest sits on aging page builders and template stacks. Those platforms were architected for the 2010s: plugin sprawl, security patches, and layouts an agent can't reason about. Retrofitting a tool layer onto that foundation is like putting a jet engine on a horse cart — most agencies won't even try.

05

We build for the future, not yesterday

Every site we ship is built on a modern stack with structured data, AI answer-engine optimization, and a clear path to Web MCP tools — so agents can find you, understand you, and transact with you. We run our own software company on these standards. Your website should be ready for the next decade of the web, not patched for the last one.

The agentic web isn't a prediction — it's shipping in browsers right now. The only question is whether your website is a participant or a bystander.
